Commission a Portrait
Custom commissioned portraits are available once per month. Commissions will be accepted up to 6 months in advance before being marked as "unavailable" until the next painting is complete. 50% upfront is expected to hold your place, and the remaining 50% is expected at the start of your commission. The first 50% down payment is non-refundable and covers materials and planning costs. Once your painting is complete, the entire cost is no longer refundable.
Commissions are estimated to take 1 month to create unless otherwise indicated. All paintings are done in oil, and will take up to 2 - 3 months to dry before varnishing and shipping.

Materials:
Custom commissions can be done on various sized canvases, but the default is 18x24" stretched linen canvas. Linen canvases have the greatest durability and quality allowing your painting to maintain its quality for generations.
Oil paints used are high quality oils from brands such as Gamblin, Williamsburg, Winsor & Newton, and others. For certain paintings, hand-mulled paints are created from mineral pigments and Italian cold-pressed linseed oil. The pursuit of the highest quality paint allows for rich longevity of your painting. For hand-mulled paints, I source the highest quality pigment I can find and produce the paint by hand for ideal smoothness and to ensure purity of the paint. These efforts result in quality vibrance for generations.

I will send you regular updates regarding your painting and share the behind the scenes development of your artwork.
