DRAWING: MY FAVORITE PRACTICE

I draw from my photos.

When I sit with a single image to draw it, it turns into a study of that image: The values, the emotion, the composition, and more. 

Drawing reinforces my photography, which allows me to produce better photos, which allows me to have better references to draw. It's an upward cycle.

I have multiple sketchbooks dedicated to different drawing techniques. I take my sketchbooks and drawing supplies with me everywhere I go, making drawing my most accessible and regular of my creative practices.

I prefer sketching with charcoal to get darker contrast and smoother application than what I can achieve with graphite.
